Saving Lives, One Cat at a Time
Pat’s Rescue Cats, a nonprofit based in Phenix City, is committed to saving cats from kill shelters and the streets. For nearly eight years, the organization has been led by Pat Swift. After retiring from her job in Columbus in 2017, Swift devoted herself full-time to rescuing cats and kittens, providing medical care, and placing them in loving homes throughout the community.

Pat Swift
Founder & Chaos Coordinator
Swift, 69, runs the area’s sole cat-exclusive rescue, focusing mainly on saving cats from high-kill shelters in Alabama. She cares for cats of all ages, from newborns to seniors, and providing this care requires significant financial resources.
With more than 85 cats currently under her care, donations for medical treatment and ongoing care are critically important. Swift runs her shelter solely through donations and her personal retirement savings. As the number of cats has grown in recent years, the demand for financial support and donated supplies has also significantly increased.
“We are most in need of canned food, litter donations, small blankets for the kittens, towels, linens, and cleaning products.”
Pat’s Rescue Cats also accepts monetary donations via Cash App, Venmo and PayPal
Please spay and neuter your cats, and if you do have to let them go, please don’t take them to a kill shelter

Any donation is appreciated, even $5 helps me with something

Every week, we dedicate countless hours to feeding multiple feral cat colonies, practicing TNR, and trapping cats for essential veterinary care. I rely on the community’s support to continue this life-saving work. If my story resonates with you, please consider making a donation and opening your heart by adopting one of these beautiful cats.
